Coming to a new country is never easy. Especially when you have been forced to leave everything behind to escape war, persecution or injustice. For over 20 years, the Human Rights League has been a lifeline for refugees and asylum seekers navigating the complexities of migration and asylum, helping them find not just safety, but a sense of home here in Slovakia.

We provide the essentials that make a new start possible: free legal assistance, representation in asylum cases and a real chance to start over. For the past four years, our team has stood firmly with displaced Ukrainians and worked to improve the rights of all foreigners living in Slovakia. We fight to ensure that children can go to school, families can see a doctor and that everyone has the opportunity to stand on their own feet.

Our legal team believes that justice should not be a luxury for the few. But we cannot do it alone. We need support from people like you - donors who value humanity and see the power of solidarity.

Behind every case file is a person with a story. Last year alone, we held over 3 200 in-person consultations and handled more than 5 300 requests for help online and over the phone. HRL workshops have helped over 1 800 members of the Ukrainian community understand their rights and feel more secure in their new surroundings.
